You’ve spoken and we are listening. As a way to make paying your invoices more convenient, we are now accepting credit card payments through FreshBooks. If you pay your invoice via Freshbooks’ credit card service, your account will be charged the exact transaction fee we are charged for using the service. That fee will appear on the subsequent invoice to the one you are paying with the credit card. If you pay with your Visa or MasterCard, you account will be charged $0.30 plus 2.9% of the transaction total. If you pay with your American Express card, your account will be charged $0.30 plus 3.5% of the transaction total.

We will continue to accept cash, checks, and online check payments without assessing an additional fee per transaction.

The September 1, 2015 invoices have gone out. Beginning with these September invoices, the contractual late fee of $35 will be automatically added to late invoices. To ensure you receive all communications from Freshbooks (our invoicing system), please check your spam or junk-mail folder for any invoices that might be trapped in email purgatory. Also, your enrollment contract outlines the payment plan you selected. As always, please let us know if you have any questions.

To help minimize the risk of incurring a late fee, we’ve activated the credit card transaction system within Freshbooks. However, should you pay with a credit card rather than cash, check, or electronic check, your account will be assessed the exact transaction fee that we are assessed in running your transaction as explained in detail below.

We’re excited to begin a new school year in all our curriculum areas, including our farm program. The farm program begins in September and will look a little different this year from how it has in the past. We will continue to have access to the farm and all that it has to offer for our students, but our student’s time on the farm likely won’t start until sometime after September.

As exciting changes take place at the Hampstead Farm, we are overwhelmingly grateful for the support and consideration being shown our school by the community. The Hampstead Community is investing time and energy in MSH, and are a fundamental, essential support to our school and a vital and indispensable component to our identity. We will continue to enjoy unfettered access to the Hampstead Farm and are enthusiastic to take part in shaping the future of the Farm. As transitions at the Hampstead Farm take place this fall, we will be conducting farm classes in the classroom and elsewhere in the community, in a...

With the weather shifting back and forth, we have already had some illness going around school. When your child is ill and will not be coming to school, please call the school office in the morning between 8:00 am and 8:30 am to let us know that he or she will be absent.

There’s no convenient or happy time to have a sick child, but please keep your child at home if he or she is sick. Students with infectious illnesses must stay out of school until the contagious stage has passed, as advised by a medical doctor. For the sake of the other children’s health, it is vital that you let the office know your child’s diagnosis as soon as possible. Also, while hand sanitizer is a good option, there are many viruses from which it offers no protection. Please wash your hands frequently with soap and water and encourage your children to do the same as it is the best way to prevent illness.

Please keep your child home as long as there is a fever present, a sore throat, eye infection, continuous and...

As we foster independence at MSH, safety is our paramount concern. The main front office door and keypads are for adult hands only. Particularly if you are an Early Childhood parent, please watch your children’s hands around the front door.  If your child wants to hold the door and is capable of doing so, please make sure hands and fingers remain well away from the hinge-edge of the door. Similarly, no students should know their family’s entry code. If your child knows your family’s entry code, please request a new one from Adrianna (

Teachers and admin also do our best to keep the half-door closed into the Primary and Toddler hallway. This safety measure ensures that children cannot come into the front office and prevents them from going to the front door unattended. Just as you would not hold the front door to allow a child to go outside on her own, please do not hold the half-door for a child. All children should be accompanied by a parent or staff member b...

This month we will have school picture days for all students. Your child’s participation in school picture day is completely voluntary, and any family may opt out. If you do not want your child’s picture taken, please contact the office. After the photos are taken, participating families will be able to review photos online prior to ordering photo packages through the photography company.

The schedule for picture days is below. Please note that some class picture days will stretch over two days. If this applies to your child’s class, please have your child dressed to be photographed for both days unless instructed otherwise by your child’s teacher.
